If you follow my blog, you know that one area of life that I struggle to be consistent with is working out. At the beginning of January, I decided to get a gym membership (along with every other New Years’ resolutioner in the world). I told myself I wasn’t going to be like everyone else who starts working out in January and then just fades off. At my gym, when you join you get 3 free personal training sessions. I was excited to learn some exercises and thought this was something I might continue to do in order to hold myself accountable. Once it came time to talk about training costs, I decided it was more money than I was wanting to pay.

I started doing a little research online so I could come up with a workout plan when I went to the gym. I found myself getting to the gym and forgetting what I had planned to do. So I thought okay, I’ll write the exercises down in the notes section of my phone so I remember. It got kind of annoying to continuously look at my phone during my workouts so….back to the drawing board.

After a little more research, I found a company called Auro Audio Fitness. I had never really thought to do Audio fitness at the gym but thought it might be worth a try. They offer a 14-Day Free Trial so I really had nothing to lose by giving it a go. After a few days, I decided to go for the paid version and I am so happy with how it enhanced my workouts. I am writing this post to highlight some of my favorite aspects of this app.

How It Works

Before you sign up, they ask you some basic questions to get an idea of what your goals and fitness levels are. The goal of these questions is so the app can come up with a training plan. The questions include:

What is your fitness goal?

  • To lose weight,
  • Be able to run a race
  • Build Strength

What is your fitness level?

  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced

What is your preferred category?

  • Treadmill
  • Outdoor run
  • Strength
  • Cross trainer
  • Spin
  • Yoga

The questionnaire was pretty quick and easy and once you finish you are able to get into your portal and start choosing classes!

Price

The price of this app is one of the reasons I joined the paid version so quickly. They bill annually so each year there is one payment of $59.99. That is less than $5 bucks per month. I would say it is worth is considering everything that comes with the app.

Do I Need a Gym Membership?

No gym membership needed! I don’t have a treadmill or spin bike at home so I need to go to the gym in order to do those classes. I also don’t have a ton of weights at home so I usually do strength training at the gym too. At home, I do the stretching and yoga class. This app works pretty well whether you are wanting to do workouts at home, outside, or at the gym.

High-Quality Trainers

So far, all of the trainers I have come across have good knowledge and experience with how to obtain your fitness goals. Each trainer has a different style and after a while it was fun to have a better idea of who fits my training needs best. The instructions are always clear and I have never found myself to be confused on what to do.

All of the trainers I have had have been really motivating and make me want to complete the workout. I always feel really accomplished after I complete these workouts because I feel like I pushed myself a little harder than I would have had I of just been working out on my own. They also focus on different muscle groups and make sure to hit different ones throughout the week.

Types of Classes

The Auro Audio Fitness App offers a pretty big variety of classes. My all-time FAVORITE class is the stretching class. I have started doing this every morning and I can’t even put into words how much better my body feels throughout the day.

Other classes include walking, outdoor and treadmill running, spin, yoga, rowing, strength training, and more. The classes come with videos that you can watch before in case there is a movement that you need to see before you perform it yourself. I also would like to add that they have some pretty good music that gets you pumped up while you’re working out.

Final Thoughts

If this is an app you were thinking about trying, my answer is YES! I love having a guided workout while I still have the autonomy to stop and start it as needed. The variety of classes is helpful and I enjoy the actual classes themself. I am excited to continue to use this app and see if it helps me reach my fitness goals!
