It’s been a while since I first started eating Splendid Spoon meals regularly. Since then, they have grown and expanded what they offer to customers. One of their most recent additions are the grain bowls. Right now, Splendid Spoon is offering 8 different grain bowls with new ones being added frequently.
In the last box I received, I tried 4 of their grain bowl options. They include the Tuscan White Bean and Tomato Bowl, Aloo Gobi Quinoa Bowl, Sweet Potato Quinoa Bowl and the Brown Rice Taco Bowl. I have been excited to review these and talk about the interesting and creative flavors each bowl has to offer.

Tuscan White Bean and Tomato Bowl
The Tuscan White Bean and Tomato Bowl is a fantastic choice if you’re an Italian food lover. As a base, Splendid Spoon used sorghum which supports strong hair and nails. Other ingredients that are beneficial in this bowl include fennel and Swiss chard. Fennel can help to reduce inflammation while the Swiss chard can give the midday natural energy boost you might need around lunch time.
In my opinion, the mixture of the sorghum and white beans (on top of all of the other ingredients) make this a very filling bowl. I wasn’t able to eat the entire bowl in one sitting but finished it about an hour later as a little snack. I plan to keep this bowl in the lineup for my weekly shipments.
Aloo Gobi Quinoa Bowl
Before I had this bowl, I had not heard of the traditional Indian dish Aloo Gobi. When I checked out the ingredients and saw it had potatoes I knew I was going to love it. Pretty much if it has potatoes in it, it will fit in the realm of things I’m gonna eat.
Beneficial ingredients in this meal include turmeric, peas, and mushrooms. Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory. I have had some skin breakouts lately due to all of this dry weather so I will take any natural anti-inflammatory I can get. The peas in this bowl will make you more full while also stabilizing blood sugar. Besides being the best food on planet earth, the mushrooms provide extra Vitamin D which is needed this time of year.
Sweet Potato Quinoa Bowl
The Sweet Potato Quinoa Bowl is one of Splendid Spoons newer bowls. The ingredients in this bowl are more basic but the flavors work really well together. I love quinoa and chickpeas and feel like they were a good source of protein in this dish. I was able to finish the entire bowl in one sitting but was very full.
Beneficial ingredients in this bowl include quinoa, lemon, and shiitake mushrooms. The lemon assists in purifying the body by boosting hydration. Shiitake mushrooms can support immune health and Quinoa will give you a power boost by being a plant-based protein.
Brown Rice Taco Bowl
As per usual, I always save what I think I will like the best for last and as per usual…..I was correct. I love me some tacos so I knew I would love the taco bowl. Now this bowl is a little spicy so if you’re not into that you might want to skip this one. Nothing crazy, just a little bit.
Red peppers, pepitas, and black beans are the key ingredients that give this bowl an extra boost of health. The red peppers are packed with Vitamin C while the pepitas will help increase magnesium. The black beans will keep you full while steadying blood sugars.
I can’t begin to express how good my body feels after weeks where I order Splendid Spoon. It’s so easy to make good choices about what goes in my body because it is already made and it just tastes good. They have enough variety of options where nothing ever gets old. The 4 grain bowls I tried were all delicious and I would be happy to try them again. I am excited to try their others!
