August – Simple and Mindful Picks
Woah, August snuck up on me quick this year. Did June and July even happen? I feel like I blinked and summer is half over. July was a great month in that I did all the summer things. I went to the pool, out on the boat, hung out with friends, and watched my dog play on his splash pad while my other dog (who doesn’t care for water) relaxed in the sun. It was overall a good month!

So I will get right to it! Below you will find some of my favorite products that I will be using going into August to make my life simpler and happier.
1. Vitamin C Oil

It’s summer and you need that skin to be looking hydrated and bright. I sometimes have some hyperpigmentation issues in the summer and Vitamin C oil is a lifesaver. I also have dry skin so this helps to keep me hydrated. Overall it has a lot of anti-aging properties and just makes ya face look better. I really like this one because it is low price but definitely still gets the job done. They sell $150 oils out there which I’m sure have all the bells and whistles but if you want to try it out I couldn’t recommend this one more.
2. Joggers

So, July brought some sadness in that I realized that Lululemon is no longer selling their “on the fly” line anymore. Which got me to do some research which actually created some money saving greatness. Amazon has some joggers that are ALMOST THE SAME, except even a little better for only $30! I struggle to keep my clothes nice so having to replace these every couple months due to pilling is a lot easier than when I am paying $120 for them.
3. Ritual Vitamins
Girl (or guy), if you are my age (or really any age) I hope you have found a vitamin you like. I have been taking the Ritual Vitamins for a few months now and I can’t say enough about the positive changes I have noticed. My skin has less eczema breakouts, I have more energy throughout the day and just feel better overall. They also have a prenatal line if you are pregnant or trying to conceive.
4. Splendid Spoon Smoothies

I love me some smoothies in the summer (and really all year round for that matter). Some companies will send you ingredients for smoothies, which if I am having to clean my blender I may as well buy my own smoothie ingredients. What is nice about Splendid Spoon is the smoothies come pre-made so all you have to do is grab that baby out of the fridge and go on your way. They have TONS of flavors so it’s easy to find several that you will like. They are also all vegan, gluten-free, and full of all the good shit you want in your body. If you are interested in knowing more about Splendid Spoon Meals check out “My Thoughts” on their meals or also what I think about their “High-Protein Meals”.
5. Masks

I’d hate to be the bearer of bad news but it’s lookin’ like masks might be making their comeback. Hopefully the new mandates aren’t around for too long but if so, I would recommend getting stocked up before people ramp their prices up again. Since I think I am sleek and cool I always go for the black mask and a BONUS, it currently mimics my cold and dead heart (laugh emoji). I am only kidding and also don’t know how to add emoji’s into these posts but wanted to address I was saying that with humor (insert another laugh emoji).
6. Towel Clips

Is there anything worse than your towel falling down off your chair while you’re at the pool? The answer is yes, there are many worse things…..BUT, it is an annoyance that can easily be solved with a couple towel clips. Now I will inform you that these are pretty aggressive and huge and will show everyone at the pool that you are a little “extra” but it is worth it for not having the hassle of adjusting your towel all the time. They also have less aggressive ones for those of you who don’t want the extra attention at the pool.
7. Hair Masks

Getting into the pool and lake all summer can really wreak havoc on my hair. One way to combat that is using hair masks occasionally. Mane Club has several different hair masks that are affordable and effective. They also have other hair products. If you want to know more about their products and what I think about them, check out “My Thoughts”.
8. Pens from LePen

Every couple months I find my “favorite pen”. For right now, these are it! What I like about them is they come in this carrying case so it’s easy to haul them around in my backpack everywhere I go to work in an organized fashion. They also have a super fine tip which I always dig so if you’re into that too I can’t recommend these enough. I do wish they had a black pen in their smaller pack but the pack that I *linked* is a little bit bigger and has black in it.
9. Inflatable Raft

Don’t have a pool? No problem! Just get one of these rafts that you can fill up with water and get that tan while still staying cool. I like the raft in that it isn’t as intense to fill up and keep clean as a little blow up pool would be.
10. Swell Bottle
Not that it isn’t important to try staying hydrated all year round, but in the summer it’s the most! If I am out in the heat all day I get the worst headache if I’m not drinking water the whole time. I like the Swell Bottle because it is a good size, fits in my car cup holders, and keeps my water cold all day.
……And thats it! Those are my 10 mindful picks for August. With the last months of summer upon us, live it up and hopefully these products can make your life a little simpler and better.

my daughter loves those pens! Checking out those smoothies – so the float you blow it up, put water in it? Im not sure I get it. I do agree with you, pull the masks back out unfortuntatly.
What a great roundup of must-haves for August. I have Vitamin C oil, it’s a skin saver for the cooler months.
What a great roundup!! Totally grabbing those joggers and pens RIGHT NOW, going in my amazon basket!!
I loooooove those joggers and what a fabulous price! Thanks for the find 🙂 I cannot wait to try those pens, as I’m a total pen geek!
